Quelle ville charmante!!!! 9km away from Nice and 7km from Monaco (20 minutes by regional bus), with about 2.500 hab, Eze has gorgeous views to Mediterranean Sea. Perched in an "eagle's nest" at the height of an imposing and superb cliff, the village and its light ochre church can be seen from far. To find the entrance, take the small, rocky path which has a splendid view of the gardens surrounding the Château de la Chèvre d'Or. Once inside, you will discover a small Provencal village filled with charm and colourful window boxes, offering a panoramic view of the sea and coast-line.
The village is so beautiful, it's hard to believe you have not stumbled onto a movie set... !
The numerous small arts and crafts boutiques are hard to resist... some of them are like tiny caves dug out of the rocky hill-side.
The exotic garden with beautiful sculptures from Jean-Philippe Richard, the mysterious goddess descendents from Isis, has rare plants whose beauty is due that fact the garden is protected from north wind and excellent drainage provided by the soil decline. Imagine this gorgeous scenery surrounded by the Mediterranean blue. When it is sunny... Mon Dieu, c'est le paradis!!! It is paradise!!!
I’ve been there in 2006 and stayed one night at L'Hermitage Hôtel (75 €). J'ai adorée!!! I loved it!! A very charming and cozy place. Our bedroom had a view over the sea, we’ve been very lucky because we enjoyed one night in our balcony with full moon over the Mediterranean as witness, drinking wine and eating "frommages" from the grocery store of the village, très bon marché!!! Very unexpensive!!!
